MUUBS® Yami Tapas Board - Brown

The Yami Tapas Board by MUUBS is defined by the deep, tonal character of carbonised ash and a long, slender profile. Fine linear grooves run through the centre of the board, creating a tactile contrast with the smoother timber surface and extending into the integrated handle. The carbonisation brings out rich brown and near-black tones in the ash, with natural variations in grain and colour remaining visible. At 49cm long, its elongated proportions give the board a strong presence on a kitchen bench or dining table.

Design Details

• Material & finish: Food-safe carbonised ash with naturally varying grain, colour and tonal depth.

• Form & proportion: Long 49 × 15cm profile with an integrated open handle and slim 18mm depth.

Why It Works

• Dark carbonised timber creates a grounded contrast against stone, ceramic, stainless steel and lighter natural woods.
• The elongated silhouette introduces a strong linear element to a table setting without feeling overly decorative.
• Equally considered left visible on a kitchen bench or used for serving tapas and shared food at the table.

FAQs

What is the MUUBS Yami Tapas Board made from?
It is made from carbonised ash wood and is food-safe. As a natural timber product, variations in colour and grain are expected.

Does carbonised ash have a smell?
The carbonisation process can give the ash a characteristic scent when new. According to the supplier, this will diminish with use.

How should I care for the Yami Tapas Board?
Before first use, apply cooking oil with a dry cloth and allow it to absorb for approximately 30 minutes, wiping away any excess. Hand wash with warm soapy water, dry immediately and avoid soaking, dishwashers and direct heat sources.
