Kristina Dam® Column Coat Rack Long - Black

The Column Coat Rack Long brings Kristina Dam Studio’s architectural language to a simple wall-mounted form, with six sculptural hooks arranged along a solid oak rail. Inspired by the geometry of classical columns, each hook has a strong, upright profile softened by a subtle curved transition into the base. Finished in black lacquer, the oak grain remains quietly visible beneath the dark surface, giving the piece texture without diminishing its graphic character. At 490mm wide, it has enough presence to read as an intentional wall element even when not in use.

Design Details

• Solid oak construction — lacquered in black while retaining the natural texture and grain of the timber.
• Six column-inspired hooks — repeated geometric forms create a measured, architectural rhythm across the 490mm length.
• Compact profile — just 60mm high and deep, keeping the silhouette restrained against the wall.

Why It Works

• Graphic contrast — the black finish creates a defined line against pale or neutral walls and pairs naturally with timber, stone and other tactile materials.
• Sculptural when empty — the repeated column forms give the coat rack an object-like quality rather than reading purely as functional hardware.
• Useful visual rhythm — its linear proportions suit an entrance, hallway or bedroom where a relatively small wall-mounted piece can introduce structure without visual weight.

FAQs

What is the Column Coat Rack Long made from?
It is made from solid oak with a black lacquered finish. As oak is a natural material, subtle differences in grain pattern and colouration can occur.

How should I care for the black oak finish?
Clean with warm soapy water and dry immediately using a soft cloth. Prolonged direct sunlight may cause the colour to fade slightly over time.

What are the dimensions and how is it installed?
The coat rack measures 490mm wide × 60mm deep × 60mm high and weighs 0.63kg. Appropriate screws and wall plugs should be selected for the wall construction to ensure it is mounted securely.
