Broste® Limfjord Oval Board

The Limfjord Oval Board by Broste Copenhagen brings the warmth and natural grain of solid oak to a simple, softly rounded form. Made in Poland from FSC-certified oak and finished with oil, its generous oval surface is framed by a shallow carved groove designed to collect crumbs and juices while preparing or serving food. The restrained profile and warm timber tone reflect Broste’s Scandinavian approach to everyday objects — functional enough for the kitchen, yet considered enough to bring directly to the table. Natural variations in the oak grain give each board its own subtle character.

Design Details

• FSC-certified oak — oiled to retain the timber’s natural grain, warmth and tactile finish.
• Carved perimeter groove — a practical detail for catching crumbs and juices during preparation and serving.
• Generous oval form — 420 × 300mm with a substantial 20mm profile and softly curved proportions.

Why It Works

• Warm oak introduces natural texture alongside ceramic dinnerware, glass and stainless steel.
• The elongated oval provides a softer counterpoint to the straight lines of kitchen benches and dining tables.
• Designed to move comfortably between food preparation and table serving, reducing the visual divide between functional and decorative kitchenware.

FAQs

Is the Limfjord Board food safe?
Yes. The oak board is food safe and designed for everyday food preparation and serving.

How should I care for the oak?
Handwash with mild dish soap, rinse with hot water, wipe dry and allow the board to air dry upright. Regular oiling is recommended to maintain the timber and help prevent drying or damage.

Will every board look exactly the same?
No. As oak is a natural material, variations in grain pattern and tone should be expected and form part of the character of each board.
