Broste® Salt/Pepper Grinder Edgar Two Ring Set/2

The Edgar Salt/Pepper Grinder by Broste Copenhagen pairs natural oiled oak with a softly sculpted two-ring profile, giving this everyday object a distinctly tactile presence. The rounded upper form contrasts with the simple cylindrical base, while the visible oak grain brings warmth and subtle variation to the surface. A Danish CrushGrind ceramic mechanism is integrated within the timber body, combining functional construction with a restrained Scandinavian sensibility. At 20cm high, its proportions give it enough presence to remain part of the table setting rather than something that needs to be put away.

Design Details

• Natural oiled oak: A warm, tactile timber finish that retains the visible character and grain of the oak.
• Sculptural profile: Three softly rounded rings create a rhythmic silhouette above the clean cylindrical base.
• Ceramic CrushGrind mechanism: Fitted with the Danish-designed ceramic grinding system for salt or pepper.

Why It Works

• The natural oak introduces warmth alongside stoneware, linen, stainless steel and other neutral tableware materials.
• Its rounded form provides a softer counterpoint to the straighter lines of dining tables, shelving and kitchen joinery.
• The restrained Scandinavian character allows it to sit comfortably within Japandi, contemporary and natural-material interiors.

FAQs

Can the Edgar Grinder be used for both salt and pepper?
Yes. The ceramic CrushGrind mechanism is suitable for grinding either salt or pepper, allowing you to choose its use according to your table setting.

How should I care for the oiled oak finish?
Hand wash gently with mild dish soap and dry promptly. Do not place the grinder in the dishwasher or leave it soaking in water.

Will the timber look exactly like the product shown?
Natural oak varies in grain, tone and figuring, so each grinder will show subtle differences. These variations are characteristic of real timber rather than manufacturing faults.
