Kristina Dam® Column Coat Rack - Light

The Column Coat Rack turns a functional wall piece into a study of rhythm, repetition and solid form. Crafted from oiled oak, its sculptural profile is defined by a sequence of upright columns and softly curved recesses, drawing on the geometric language of classical pillars while retaining Kristina Dam Studio’s distinctly Scandinavian restraint. The natural grain and warm, pale tone of the oak soften its architectural silhouette, allowing the rack to sit quietly against a neutral wall or alongside stone, linen and other natural materials. When installed in multiples, the repeating form creates a more continuous architectural composition.

Design Details

• Oiled oak — a natural finish retains the visible grain, tonal variation and tactile character of the timber.
• Sculptural geometry — four projecting columns are balanced by curved recesses, creating a rhythmic architectural profile.
• Compact proportions — W210 × D60 × H180 mm, designed as a small wall-mounted coat rack with a strong visual presence.

Why It Works

• Introduces warmth and natural texture without adding visual clutter.
• The interplay of straight edges and curved cut-outs gives the piece enough character to remain decorative when not in use.
• Particularly considered when repeated along a wall, where multiple racks create a continuous geometric pattern.

FAQs

Will the oak vary from the photographs?
Yes. Oak is a natural material, so variations in grain pattern and colouration are expected and form part of the character of each piece.

How should I care for the Column Coat Rack?
Clean with warm soapy water and dry immediately with a soft cloth. Prolonged direct sunlight may cause the timber colour to change or fade slightly over time.

How is it installed?
The coat rack is wall mounted. Appropriate screws and dowels should be selected for the wall construction to ensure it is securely fixed.
