Seki Chair - Pumice

The Seki Chair explores the contrast between a softly upholstered form and the clean structure of exposed timber. Its curved back wraps around the seat in one continuous gesture, while a solid ash frame traces the outside of the chair, giving the design a light, architectural quality. Textured poly-mix upholstery softens the geometry, creating a considered balance of warmth, structure and negative space. With subtle Japandi influences, the Seki is a contemporary lounge chair that places equal emphasis on material and form.

Design Details

• Solid ash structure — The exposed ash frame forms the legs and outer profile of the chair, bringing natural grain and warmth to the upholstered silhouette.
• Sculptural curved back — A continuous wraparound back creates a strong horizontal line while retaining an open, visually light composition.
• Textural upholstery — Poly-mix fabric adds tactile depth and gentle tonal variation, with three colour options available.

Why It Works

• A balance of timber and textile — The exposed ash provides warmth and definition against the softer upholstered surfaces, pairing naturally with stone, linen, ceramics and other organic materials.
• Curves within a structured frame — Rounded upholstery softens the architectural timber base, creating an interesting interplay between solid and open forms.
• Designed to be seen from every angle — The exposed frame and open back give the Seki presence beyond its front profile, making it particularly suited to more open-plan living spaces.

FAQs

What is the Seki Chair made from?
The Seki Chair combines a solid ash timber frame and legs with poly-mix upholstery. The exposed timber is an integral part of the design, rather than simply a supporting element.

Will the solid ash vary between chairs?
Yes. Ash is a natural material, so variations in grain, tone and markings are expected from piece to piece. These differences are part of the character of solid timber furniture rather than imperfections.

What colours is the Seki Chair available in?
The Seki Chair is available in three upholstery colours, allowing the same sculptural form to take on a different character depending on the surrounding palette and materials.
